The Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Gambia has named Mr. Momodou Lamin Drammeh as Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1st, 2023. As Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Drammeh will provide effective communication and represent AMCHAM on behalf of its Partners and Members in front of the Gambian Government, the U.S Government, the International and Diplomatic community, the wider business community in the Gambia, and the Diaspora.
“The board is very excited to welcome Mr. Mo Drammeh as the new CEO of AMCHAM Gambia, a name that he is fondly called in his second home of Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A.,” said Papa Yusupha Njie, President of the American Chamber of Commerce, Gambia Chapter. “His experience and knowledge, combined with his ability to interact and identify opportunities, develop partnerships, and lead initiatives, we hope will help bring AMCHAM closer to achieving its objectives.”
His appointment aligns with the objectives of the new non-executive board of Directors of AMCHAM Gambia to have a results-oriented CEO at the helm of AMCHAM to revitalize AMCHAM Gambia.
He has been mandated to effectively play a more consistent role in the current business environment and to roll out a strategic agenda geared towards improving trade links between the US and Gambian businesses and partner with the US Embassy in the Gambia to further open new opportunities for businesses in both countries and to encourage the Diasporan Gambian business community in the USA to also invest in the Gambia via their US companies.
Mr. Mo Drammeh is an accomplished entrepreneur with more than fifteen years (15) of owning and operating a service-based business in Atlanta, having worked as a regional contract Specialist with the Georgia Department of Human Resources for the DeKalb County Department of Family and Children Services.
As a student-athlete and a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, he has cultivated a reputation of being a disciplined, honest, hardworking, and resourceful individual, and above all, a dedicated servant leader with a magnetic personality. Mr. Drammeh’s acumen as a trailblazing Gambian Olympian, a 1996 recipient of an international Olympic Solidarity Scholarship to pursue a higher education degree in the USA, and his deep understanding of American culture and history positioned him as an attractive CEO of AMCHAM, Gambia.
CEO Drammeh, combined with his deep passion for promoting both Gambian and American businesses, will undoubtedly bring added value to the achievement of the mission and vision of AMCHAM, Gambia.
